Abstract

Data from the World Health Organization indicate that global overall age-adjusted cancer incidence and mortality rates are 1.2- and 1.5-fold higher in men as compared to women, respectively.¹ Non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) is the most common cancer among white populations, yet the prognostic significance of gender remains unclear.² A possible relationship may exist given that in melanoma, women have a lower mortality risk as compared to men.^3,4
