Carotid body tumors are rare neuroendocrine tumors. Surgical intervention is indicated if symptoms due to enlargement or malignancy suspected; however, traditional operation can cause significant blood loss and carry high risks of morbidity. We report a technical variation of tumor resection in a hybrid surgical room. After embolization and covered stenting in the carotid arteries through directly transcarotid puncture, the tumor was smoothly removed with little blood loss. This approach is less challenging without the necessity of much catheterization technique, might reduce the operative risk effectively, and could be applied to the neck tumor invading the carotid artery.
