The reduction of frequent exacerbations associated with severe asthma is a goal of asthma therapeutics, yet the clinical features of exacerbation-prone asthma (EPA) remain unclear. Denlinger et al (Am J Respir Crit Care Med 2016; http://ift.tt/2iTmmC7) explored the clinical, lung function, and inflammatory characteristics of adults and children with EPA in a large cohort recruited by the Severe Asthma Research Program-3, with children representing more than 25% of the cohort.
