Combinations of common polymorphisms within GSTA1 and GSTT1 as a risk factor for psoriasis in a Central European population: a case-control study

Abstract

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with a strong genetic background substantially affecting skin response to environmental factors. Inadequate response to external stimuli may lead to skin inflammation and psoriasis onset. Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) are candidate enzymes important for cellular protection against oxidative stress.
