A considerable hallmark for the genesis of several mental disorders is represented by repetitive thought, a well known risk and perpetuating factor for several psychopathological models (Segerstrom et al., 2000). Repetitive thought can be defined as a process requesting subject's mind to think "attentively, repetitively or frequently about one's self and one's world" (Segerstrom et al., 2003). Although firstly described in depressive and anxiety disorders, repetitive thought also plays a fundamental role in causing and maintaining Insomnia Disorder (ID) (Harvey, 2002).
