Ethanol LOCK & Immunoglobulin LOAD: Improving the Clinical Course of Tricho-hepato-enteric Syndrome

The patient is a 3 year old female with tricho-hepato-enteric syndrome (THE-S) admitted for an Escherichia-coli central line associated bloodstream infection. Medical history includes chronic diarrhea (baseline 4-5 loose stools per day) with total parenteral nutrition (TPN) via central line, failure to thrive (FTT), reno-vascular hypertension, iron deficiency anemia, liver impairment, multiple line infections, and pneumonia. She was born via cesarean section at 35 weeks estimated gestational age (EGA) due to intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR).
