Abstract
I would like to congratulate the authors for an informative article titled - Impact of Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders on Quality of Life, by Tadakamadala et al1, which was an interesting read. The authors have included 50 patients each of Oral Leukoplakia (OL), Oral Lichen Planus (OLP) and Oral Submucous Fibrosis (OSF) who were administered Oral potentially malignant disorders quality of life (OPMDQoL) questionnaire and a short form 12 item (version 2) health survey questionnaire (SF-12v2). The authors concluded that OLP and OSF have a significant impact on the quality of life (QoL) of affected individuals especially in the domains 'Physical impairment and functional limitations' and increasing stage of the disease is associated with worsening QoL.
