Abstract

Inherited epidermolysis bullosa (EB) is a group of rare genetic disorders clinically characterized by a wide range of skin and mucosal blistering after minor trauma¹. This condition is caused by mutations on genes coding for structural proteins of the skin and affects both genders from all ethnic groups, and its estimated prevalence is about 500,000 cases worldwide².
