Red Tattoo Related Mycosis Fungoides-like CD8+ Pseudolymphoma

Abstract

Cutaneous tattoo reactions are most often seen to red tattoo ink.¹ Spongiotic, lichenoid, psoriasiform, granulomatous, and pseudolymphomatous inflammatory reaction patterns have been described.² Those dyes containing mercury sulfide (cinnabar) are thought to be particularly reactive although the more recently utilized organic red pigments are reactive and can manifest as exuberant delayed hypersensitivity reactions.
