Abstract

Dermatomyositis (DM) is a rare autoimmune disease with high clinical variability in terms of cutaneous and muscle involvement as well as disease duration. DM severely impacts the quality of life of the patients and may be life threatening. This is primarily due to lung involvement and the 3.0 to 7.7 fold increased relative risk for cancer compared to the general adult population^1;2.
