Role of transnasal flexible laryngo-oesophagoscopy (TNFLO) in investigating patients with globus symptoms

Globus pharyngeus is the feeling of foreign body sensation in the throat. This feeling can be intermittent or persistent. In the past, the term "globus" was attributed to a psychological cause, hence the term "globus hystericus". The term "globus pharyngeus" was suggested in 1968 to dissociate the symptom from its psychological stigma.
