Food protein–induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES) is commonly referred to as a cell-mediated allergy, but the immune mechanism is unknown. Goswami et al (p 1885) studied patients with a history of FPIES who underwent an oral food challenge to determine whether they had outgrown their disease.
