Abstract
The oral cavity is a habitat for a large number of microorganisms. More than 700 taxa of bacteria colonize the oral cavity (Human Oral Microbiome Database, release 13; www.homd.org) and form an organized oral microflora. The composition of the microflora in the oral cavity is different in each area of the cavity, reflecting the physiological conditions (Simon-Soro et al., 2013).
