Abstract
According to our clinical experience, the gold standard for ossicular chain reconstruction is the incus interposition, which has shown a very low percentage of extrusion in long-term follow-up with excellent audiological outcomes (except tympanosclerosis) in our patients. There is no study using transcanal approach for type 2 tympanoplasty with incus interposition. In order to achieve success in audiological outcomes after incus interposition, the incus needs to be lightened. In addition, the removal of incus has facilitated the cleaning of pathological tissues in the middle ear. Transcanal approach for tympanoplasty with incus interposition accelerates healing and reduces operation time. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
